For those in the know, what happens to a kid if they go pre-med and drop out/dont make it into med

school? What do you do with a premed major if you aren't going to be a doctor? I am so new to all this i am overwhelmed but what i dont know. My son would like to do med school, but a lot of kids dont make it. I want to be supportive, but with a backup plan. thanks so much!
