Well, that was a short 3 weeks. D is returning to school tomorrow morning after a send-off dinner at her Dad's house this evening. She and I spent her first week home going to the beach and eating fried clams, going to the drive-in, and just hanging in watching chick flicks and then some time here and there between her other obligations, which included working many, many days to supplement her research stipend. Today we had mani-pedis and a hug, and she's off....gonna miss my girl but she is confident and happy and is looking forward to going back, which is a relief after the difficult freshman start of last year....and I'm more comfortable with my empty nest as well!
