Hi,
Hoping some 'seasoned' parents can help me. My son took a gap year last year and came back so mature and self-assured. I was also sure that his college choice, Brandeis, was no longer the right fit for him. He seemed more adventurous and mature that he needed a more city-like environment than small town Waltham college life. But, we encouraged him to go regardless as he was willing. After only 2 months there he's telling us he doesn't like it - doesn't like college altogether and feels confused about his future. He's a music lover, guitar player and thought music major would be his bag, but turns out he's not feeling that working out. Now, he's looking at all his classes and wondering if anything appeals to him. He's utterly confused. For 62K a year, Brandeis University does not seem to be worth it while he figures this out. So, now what? Encourage him to try another school? tough it out another semester? He's utterly at a crossroads with no direction whatsoever.
